On 22 September 2026, LDT CitiVERSE EDIC and Living-in.EU will host a dedicated Finnish National Activation Session on Local Digital Twins, bringing together Finnish public administrations and relevant stakeholders to explore how national collaboration can connect with the growing European Local Digital Twin ecosystem.
The online session is part of a series of National Activation Sessions jointly organised by LDT CitiVERSE EDIC and Living-in.EU. These sessions are a first step towards activating national EDIC ecosystems around Networked Local Digital Twins and CitiVERSE services, connecting cities and stakeholders while building on existing national networks, programmes, infrastructure and projects.
Connecting European and Finnish perspectives
The Finnish session will explore how the national activation approach can work in practice and what participation in the LDT CitiVERSE EDIC ecosystem can offer cities.
Participants will hear from Jan Wester, Director of LDT CitiVERSE EDIC, alongside representatives from Finland’s Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment, the cities of Tampere and Helsinki, Business Tampere, Forum Virium Helsinki and Geonovum.
The programme will combine national and European perspectives, including an introduction to LDT CitiVERSE EDIC and the EDIC Sandbox Alliance, Finland’s national activation approach, the role of existing smart city networks, an example of the Local Digital Twin ecosystem in the Netherlands, and projects, infrastructure and use cases already being developed in Finland.
The session will also provide an opportunity for Finnish cities and stakeholders to share their needs and contribute to shaping EDIC services relevant to their national context.
